Modernizing Project Management
A visual system that simplifies, scales, and supports two product units

I helped Deltek reimagine how project managers, finance leads, and government contractors navigate the tools that run their business. I led visual design and component strategy across a multi-track visiontype that clarified the future of the platform. I brought consistency to fragmented workflows, made complex data feel intuitive, and elevated the UI to reflect the power of what the product can do.
I anchored the work in a direction I called Approachable Professional, a visual language that balances enterprise credibility with everyday usability. Classic typography, softened edges, and muted tones created a calm, confident feel. The design struck the right tone for Deltek’s dual identity—trusted and structured, but never cold or rigid.
To gain buy-in across two distinct product units, I showed how this system could flex. Whether simplifying Gantt charts for better readability, designing data visualizations that made information easier to digest, or shaping an AI experience that felt intelligent and trustworthy, the direction proved it could scale. I translated this vision into production-ready designs, refined core screens, and delivered a shared component library that gave both product teams a modern foundation to build on.

What I Took Away
The brand was still in flux. I could have waited, but there was limited time left. I took what I knew, leaned on the product UI where the details were clearer, and built from there. It was a risk. In the end, the brand barely changed, and moving forward saved us time.
The brand team made the call on color. But when data viz colors shifted, so did charts, chips, and every component tied to them. I learned to step in early, even if it’s not “mine,” and to frame it as a shared problem. Start with the impact, follow with options, and end with a better system
